Venice Surfing Association
This competition is designed to encourage our young members to take action both in the water and in the community for the planet. We are extremely grateful to the generous funding from Athens services who have made this partnership possible. We are excited to empower the next generation of coastal advocates.
Purpose
To encourage our youth to:
Engage with community
Foster Sportsmanship
Celebrate and protect our coastal environment
Eligibility
Open to all VSA members K-12
Scholarship funds available for families with financial need

Runs from November 1, 2025 - May 22 2026
Participants will be evaluated on:
Community Involvement
Sportsmanship
Environmental Project
Examples of a project include but are not limited to
Beach cleanup initiative
Film or Photography project
Art piece
Essay
We want you to use your imagination and creativity. VSA board members Stand and Alix will help guide interested contestants towards organizations and activities focused on Coastal Resilience. This will count towards hours for community service.
Prizes
Four winners will each receive $750
2 winners from high school & 2 winners from grades K–8
Winners chosen by the VSA Board based on participation and project submission
Rules & Requirements
Must attend at least 2 VSA events during the year
Environmental project due Friday, May 22, 2026
Projects may be solo or group (prize shared if group)
Winners announced at the VSA Anniversary Party (TBD) in early June, around World Oceans Day
By participating, contestants grant VSA permission to share projects on our website and social media
