About BGI

The Blue Goal Initiative was founded by a 17-year-old changemaker with a passion for soccer, surfing, and sustainability. Believing in the power of sport and storytelling to unite and transform lives.

At the heart of BGI is the ocean—a source of inspiration, healing, and action through surfing. The initiative blends surfing, soccer, and conservation, connecting youth to nature while creating life-changing opportunities. From beach cleanups to mentorship and international tournaments, youth become ambassadors for a healthier planet.

A defining moment includes sponsoring three boys from a Tanzanian village to compete at the Gothia Cup in Sweden, igniting hope and pride in their community.

Why now?

The Blue Goal Initiative sits at the intersection of three urgent global and local challenges:

  • climate change

  • youth opportunity gaps

  • the need for global connection through sport and storytelling

Mission & Vision

The vision and mission of this initiative provide and support motivating, healthy, engaging opportunities for youth to grow and connect through sports, creating awareness in their communities, and harnessing their potential positively by adopting healthy, active lifestyles that occupy them mentally and physically,  and steering them away from harmful influences.

The Blue Goal Initiative fosters connections with the urgency of Environmental action and the positive impact of sports like soccer and surfing as tools to engage, educate, and inspire.

Youth participants, globally and locally, learn how to protect and champion environmental stewardship and activism, and connect their stories to lead. Our programs utilize storytelling, mentorship, and hands-on experiences to cultivate environmental change makers and foster community impact.

With these goals that inspire and empower active, resilient youth, they are creating a wave of change back in their communities,  translating their personal experiences through sharing their stories and furthering the reach of the positive impact.

Meanwhile, BGI will continue highlighting the storytelling component through videos, photographs, writing, and communication, spreading the word to have further outreach and create a further impact.
